Trudy Banta received the Sydney S. Suslow Award of the Association for Institutional Research for “significant scholarly contributions to higher education”. She presented the United States keynote address at the 14th International Conference on Assessing Quality in Higher Education in Vienna, Austria.

Banta, T. W. (Editor.), Black, K. E. (Managing Editor). The bi-monthly periodical, Assessment Update, edited by PAII staff, won the 2003 Gold Award given annually by The Newsletter on Newsletters. The award is based on overall excellence--superior editorial content enhanced by appropriate design and typography as well as photographic and printing quality.

Karen Black and Katie Busby (now at the University of Alabama) received the 2007 Emerging Best Practice in Program Review and Evaluation award of the Commission on Assessment for Student Development of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) http://www.myacpa.org/comm/assessment/best_practices.cfm). This recognition involved assessment and the use of the Accelerated Improvement Process in IUPUI Student Housing.
